Um. Well - I wish you a lot of luck. The corgi is the bad boy of the herding breeds. I adore mine, but I freely admit he pulls at the leash despite nine years of choking, and requires lots of play time. Mine runs laps around the main floor of the house in the evening, after walkies and outdoor play time. Then he plays with the cats.

Corgis are great, but very high energy, plus lots of endurance.

We've had labs forever. Hard to find a dog better with kids, even tiny infants. All of ours have been English labs until Lady Elizabeth. She's a field lab--there is a definite difference , English have the traditional blocky chest and bull neck, with a massive head. Field labs are leaner and tend to be lighter weight.

I wasn't really planning on her when we went to look, it was just a courtesy. Sat in the living room, and all 8 pups were let out. She waddled right on over to me, and laid down with her head on my shoe.

So we came home with her.
