Tommy Christopher Is One With The Stupid

I don't get how this guy has a job. Seriously. He's an idiot.

Oh right he's a hardcore liberal spinner, so of course he gets to have a job despite having no apparent talent and no intellect to speak of.

So here's some stupid stuff he's getting paid to write type.

On that score, much has been made of the fact that labor unions chartered buses for thousands of their members, versus Restoring Honor attendees who paid their own way. This seeming contrast ignores the fact that unions are funded by their members, so by definition, the union members on those chartered buses did pay their own way. You couldnt really ask for a more textbook example of grassroots action.

Right, Tommy, you couldn't. Textbook.

I'm going to call him Textbook Tommy. Oh wait, I never read him and never pay him no mind, so I guess I won't be calling him that at all.

Thanks to Monty. I think Monty had in mind some big rant about how dumb this is. I don't know. What can you say about it? He's a fucking idiot. I could spin better for the liberals than he does and I don't even believe that shit. But I guess being liberal means never having to worry about qualifications or ability.

Oh Dear: On Twitter, a bit of drama.

Tommy Christopher objects to my assertion that I don't read him, insisting that I actually do.

To which I replied: It's pretty obvious you don't read me or else you'd know I don't read you (else, where are the links, fisking, arguments, etc.?).

It's nuts. He just can't seem to accept that he doesn't rate for me. I have no problem accepting that I don't rate for him -- why would I? But he's all angry about it. Calling me a liar for saying I don't read him.

I fucking hate the Internet and I fucking hate "Internet People." This stuff is why.

Let's have a little perspective here, guys. The "online elite"... are not.

In a word, well, to put it delicately, horseshit. Sorry, that's pretty much as delicately as it can be put.
The vast majority,I'd daresaypretty much allof the people at this "rally" were the same people who show up at every one of thesefar left protest functions. That's pretty much what these idiots do for a living, show up places and protest. Trust me, if they'd had to spend dime one of their own money getting there you'd have been luck to have had a crowd of 175, much less 175,000 or whatever massively overinflated estimate your using.
Also, it seems pretty ridiculous to bitch about Beck promoting his own rally or other news organizations talking about it so much, Beck's rally was a lot better planned and announced much further in advance. Can't fault him for that, and you can absolutely not put forth the notion that MSNBC or any of the rest of the news networks mentioned would ever have anything nice to say about Beck, or his rally, much less the ridiculous idea that they were promoting it.
Basically what you have here is Beck's rally, a true gathering of grassroots INDIVIDUALS from all walks of life, and this sham 10/2 rally that was a gathering of already entrenched left wing core groups who routinely travel to such events, and you honestly are idiotic enough to think there is even some manner of comparison between the two?

70 This is awesome.

Imagine if the government had bused people in, then taxpayers would have provided the funding for the buses making it even more grassroots.

And if it were mandatory attendance, then taxpayers would also be paying for the people forcing them to go to the rally... even more grassrootsy still. That's how it could be better Tommy, not only do you take money form people to rent the buses; but you also rent security to force them to go with their money.

Man, those Communist Fascist dictatorship really have some grassroots support. Everyone funds all of their rallies.

Posted by: Gekkobear at October 04, 2010 04:20 PM (0X2f7)

71 Although I have a certain conservative skepticism regarding organized labor, I do see why Mr. Christopher views the rally as a grassroots effort. 85 Too bad we didn't think of this amazing Textbook Tommy analysis back when Bush was president. Since American taxpayers pay their money into the government for its operation, technically the taxpayers are the government and therefore... the war in Iraq and Afghanistan was their doing.

You feel free to point that out to every war protestor. Damn baby killer hippies!!!

86 72-how can they make it mandatory to be a member? Isn't that contrary to that whole, "freedom of association" thing? For that matter, how the hell can Massachusetts force non members to pay into the unions? I honestly do not understand how that is legal.

They can and they will. That's why many states had to pass "right to work" laws to take away that bit of union power.

Welcome to the logic of the pro-union laws enacted during the FDR years and upheld by the pro-leftist court that he built. Some of them have been narrowed by more recent decisions, but the courts have never been made truly "Constitution supporting" yet.

94 Ace is being unfair to Tommy Christopher. The inane statemnent about who paid for the bussing of the professional protesters is a good example, but I think that the quotation below is the work of a man so profoundly retarded that it boggles the mind. This is nuclear powered stupidity on display. We should all doff our hats out of respect for Christopher's ability to summon exactly two brain cells for this statement.

"The big difference here is that the fringe kooks at the One Nation
rally dont have any influence on the Democratic Party. The Democratic
candidates who oppose Barack Obama, by and large, do so from the right.
The Republican Party is a different story, where wingnuttery is mainstream."

98 I know someone who went to a rally protesting cap-and-trade legislation on a chartered bus paid for by BP. Now BP gets its profits from selling gasoline and other petroleum products to those same protesters, so by definition, the protesters on those chartered buses did pay their own way. You couldnt really ask for a more textbook example of grassroots action.

(Note: The above is obviously a fictitious event since BP would be happy to have the government impose competition-killing legislation like cap-and-trade that would give BP a significant edge against smaller and more innovative energy companies.)

Dear Leftards,
I have heard that the going rate for a body at one of your thinly attended rallies is $60, plus transportation, two meals, lodging, and a free shirt.
I will be willing to compromise my beliefs for $50, one meal, one fifth of Val-U-Rite brand (or equivalent generic brand) vodka, and a metro ticket. You can keep the ugly shirt. For this highly competitive price you will have someone filling up space so that your anti-American ideology looks far more popular than it is.
Throw in a handjob from an attractive co-ed, and I'll even be sure to nod occasionally during your incredibly boring and retarded speeches in case there is a camera around.
If you want me to cheer your stupid speech and hold up one of your mass-produced 'grassroot' signs with stupid slogans on it, the co-ed will need to be both smoking hot and willing to go 'round the world,' IFYWIMAITTYD. Twice, if the slogan is especially stupid.
I will not for any amount of money, or any quality or quantity of attractive co-eds (and your supply of those is much lower than you think, guys), be involved with those incredibly moronic Giant Paper-Mache Puppets of DEATH.

134 OK, let us entertain for a moment the idea that both rallies are equal in their, shall we say, grassrootiness.

The lefties don't come out looking very good on that basis, as it points to some of the classic failings of their beliefs.

The left-wing gathering was choreographed by a small central command committee. No aspect was spontaneous or left to chance or whim of the attendees, up to and including their very presence. Yet the turnout was abysmal. Scarcely noticeable over a slow day at the height of tourist season.

The right -wing gathering largely left all but the core operations to the judgment of individuals and small groups. Yet the turnout was massive and very well-behave, even though they were in no way beholden tot he organizers to respect them or the venue. The mess left behind by the lefties reminds me of the people who excuse leaving their supermarket carts anywhere rather than the provided stalls by saying it provides employment for the person retrieving the carts. Broken windows fallacy all over. "Hey, the guys who have to pick up the trash we left everywhere are union, so it's all good!"

Another little difference, Tommy. The people who showed up at the right-wing rally did so by their own hard-earned means. They were there by choice, not as warm bodies commanded by their masters. The bussed-in lefties required the expenditure of funds from many who were not in attendance and would likely object to this use of the money extracted from their wages. (That 1935 law giving unions labor monopolies really needs to be repealed.)
