| Presidential PrioritiesThe greatest responsibility of the President of the United States is to serve as Commander in Chief. The current occupant of the White House has shown himself painfully short of capable in that role. Barack Obama had absolutely no experience related to the military or national security prior to his ascension to this position and he has shown no signs that he understands how to lead our military or our country. He has let our troops in Afghanistan down by failing to heed the urgent call from the commander he appointed for reinforcements. It is closing in on four months since he was told in no uncertain terms that the situation there was dire and our forces were in jeopardy. He has taken the counsel of fixers and political hacks over those of his entire military chain of command. He has focused his energies on remaking our vibrant, free capitalist democracy into a socialist paradise, while ignoring his self-proclaimed, campaign battle cry, war of necessity as a distraction. He was wrong in virtually every pronouncement about Iraq and had we followed his sage advice we would have ceded a victory to al Qaeda and Iran. His website had to be scrubbed of all his errors and bad advice about that conflict once he won the job. Now we watch as he grudgingly takes up the cause of our men and women in combat, and painfully dithers as to their fate. His public agonizing has given aid and comfort to our enemies as they can see just what level of commitment our leader has to the cause. In a battle of hearts and minds, President Obama has shown our friends and allies as well that he will do as little as possible and forswears even saying he seeks victory. We recently suffered the greatest terror attack on US soil since 9/11. An Islamic extremist cravenly attacked our soldiers at a medical facility. It is not worth disputing the cause of his actions, he made them clear over far too long a period of time. When faced with the order to fight for his country, he chose instead to fight his country. And not by making the manly choice to join his co-religionists and take up the banner of jihad, but in the most cowardly act of all, terrorism. It was an act of treason and since he wore the uniform falsely he should be tried for such. When asked to name his nationality, he claimed Palestinian. He lied and said he had no religious preference, when he actually preferred his religion to his country and the soldiers who he betrayed. When faced with this heinous act, Barack Obama had a solemn duty to serve in his role as Commander in Chief and speak to the American people and the soldiers he commands. Instead he chose to spend his time pandering to a political faction and giving shout outs to members of this accepted victim group. To say this was tone deaf is not accurate, tone dead is more appropriate. That he was unaware of how improper and disrespectful this was is a perfect example of his unfitness. But he does himself one better and then decides that rather than travel to Ft. Hood and comfort the families of the dead or the wounded it is more important to stay in DC and comfort his liberal fellow travelers as they attempt to nationalize our health care system. Former president Bush and his wife found the time to visit, was Michelle too busy to serve as his proxy even? Then while comforting the afflicted politicians who were suffering the tremendous challenge of voting against the wishes of their constituents, he saw fit to disgracefully use the dead and wounded soldiers as a political prop.“He was absolutely inspiring. In a very moving way, he reminded us what sacrifice really is,” said New Jersey Rep. Rob Andrews, estimating the persuader-in-chief turned several votes. This President has chosen his battle and it is with the American system that has served us well since our country was founded. He believes himself to be our first post-American President and he is aiming to allow his wife to be proud of this country for the second time in her adult life. He does not believe that our Armed Forces are something to be proud of, but that they represent what has been wrong with America for far too long. America the Oppressor has been tamed by Barack the Appeaser and there are no allies he will not insult and no enemies he will not bow down to. He wanted to be the President so he could serve as Organizer in Chief; he has shown he lacks what it takes for the required role of Commander in Chief. The manner in which he delivers any of his ill advised decisions is as nauseating as the decisions themselves. The attempt at a noble, up lifted chin demeanor is that of an inexperienced actor. It never fails to inspire.....inspire a wave of nausea and a sort of pity. He betrayed his true personality when he made it a proirity to give a "shout out" with smiles before addressed the massacre, and then shifted into his faux gravitas. He is incompetent and insincere. I'm gob-smacked about Obama's comparing the sacrafice of dead soldiers to a vote on health care. Seriously. That sort of craven opportunism was, at one time not long ago, beyond the pale.
The inclusion of the ACTUALLY BIPARTISAN Stupak ammendment with the health care bill, otoh, is providing me no end of heh-heh-heh moments. Talk about a poison pill. A Democrat decides to use a legislative process to block a woman's access to abortion services and two busloads of DEMOCRAT representatives climb on board. No, seriously. Discuss. heh. what did Obama ever, ever, EVER say or do that made anyone ever, ever, EVER believe that he gives one happy flip about our soldiers? was it when he said that he wasn't interested in victory? was it when he wouldn't wear a flag pin or put his hand over his heart for the Pledge of Allegiance. hell, he doesn't give one happy flip about our country, much less a soldier. but I would say he dislikes our soldiers because they are willing to do what Obama is not. Obama is unclear on the whole "enemy" concept. You shouldn't jump to conclusions about Nidal Hasan, but Glenn Beck is an imminent threat. We can talk to the Taliban. Chris Wallace, not so much.

Not that being active duty during the Carter years (which we were) was any joyride. Lean years for sure.

Ulysses S. Grant was once asked by a staff officer if he was certain of a decision he had just made. His reply: "No, I am not, but...anything is better than indecision. We must decide. O is a TRAITOR.
He is not incompetent (though yes, he can't speak without his teleprompter). He hates America, he hates the Constitution, and even if he's not a Muslim, he is practicing taqiyeh, the permission for Muslims to lie in order to advance Islam. He IS Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayres, a hateful piece-of-shit that condones Leftist thugs and tyrants, hates capitalism and would destroy us from within. He hates the military most of all. When the Army recruiter was murdered in Arkansas some months back, we heard nothing about it from him. Why? He wasn't unhappy about it! But his professor friend at Harvard, we heard about 20 seconds after the incident, and Obama, needless to say, was ready to indict the police, not the stupid ass prof, a friend of his, of course. This is all of a pattern. The Commander-in-Chief bows to the Saudi king, has an orgasm when meeting Chavez, supports the thugs of Iran and gives ZERO succor to the opponents of that murderous regime...when will the American public really catch on, that O is not a fumbler, he is a full-blown enemy of the Constitution he swore to uphold and is a fanatic and thug who would bring us down? His speech after Fort Hood should have been the last straw, but the lies and the excuses will go on and on and on...until we wake up and realize a coup has taken place, that we've been taken over by our OWN Castro or Lenin. Who should have been there first (rhetorical)? This President isn't going to Fort Hood right away because comforting the people who have suffered losses there does nothing for his legacy. He has determined that health care will allow him to build his legacy past his term. All Presidential decisions involve him. His legacy, his standing in the world, his fame. Anything that does nothing to advance these causes, irrespective of whether a sense of duty or responsibility dictate otherwise, are ignored.

To pick up on one of Jimbo's other points, Major Hassan did, in fact, commit treason as defined in the US Constitution as waging war against the United States. His previous history of favoring America's enemies in the current conflict and his shout of "Alahu akbar" as he killed American soldiers makes it obvious that he was engaging in exactly the same actions as our enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan.
That being the case, every soldier who was shot in that building at Fort Hood should receive the Purple Heart. Every soldier present in that building should receive the CIB. Perhaps that might get the message to our Commander in Chief that the choice he faces is not whether or not we will fight this war but whether we are going to do most of the fighting in Afghanistan or in the United States. Lets see now, what would GWB do in this situation? He would have been at Ft. Hood as fast as his 747 could get him there, Laura too. And then he would have met with as many family members as he could WITHOUT any press or cameras. After meeting with the victims and their families he would have delivered a talk to the nation to explain what happened and why. After he had done all that he could do there he would have returned to DC and addressed Congress about any important legislation that was pending. What did Obama do? Kept his unimportant speaking schedule to a political group where he joked and praised the work of these hacks. Then after milking this group for all he could he reluctantly brought up the distraction of the Ft. Hood killings. He talked about it with zero emotions and spoke in a way that can only be described as robotic. Then he flies back to DC to arm twist the walking dumb on a matter the American people have repeatedly said they do not want. After that, because of the strain on him and the first lady, he goes to Camp David for a well deserved rest. Can we survive three more years?

Moonbats have drunk the koolaid that all conservatives are chickenhawks and they assume Bush II, Nixon, Ford and Reagan did not serve. They served all right, but since that was when most Presidents served, it was no big deal. For Republicans.

"That being the case, every soldier who was shot in that building at Fort Hood should receive the Purple Heart. Every soldier present in that building should receive the CIB."
Mark, I agree that everyone who was shot should receive the Purple Heart, which will happen if this is properly categorized as a terrorist act. However, I can only assume you do not know the criteria for the Combat Infantryman Badge, the first and foremost criteria being you have to be 11B MOS...not infantry, no CIB. Back to Uncle Jimbo's rant, it was pretty good, until he said, "Instead he chose to spend his time pandering to a political faction and giving shout outs to members of this accepted victim group." Uncle Jimbo, are you saying that American Indians are just another group like ACORN and all those inner city jerks? That's a bit harsh, telling us that we aren't really descended from groups against whom the US government had an official policy of genocide. Yeah, O screwed up by making the shootings an "oh, by the way" moment. But in effect attacking American Indians by accusing us of being in the way of a proper acknowledgement of the seriousness of the shootings is going a bit far. Obama should have spoken out about the shootings, and later made the speech he had programmed into TOTUS. And he sure needs to learn who received which medals. So other than that little quibble, I'm pretty much on board with Uncle Jimbo. Posted by: MAJ Arkay at November 08, 2009 07:40 PM (19W+d) Posted by: Y-not at November 08, 2009 07:40 PM (sey23) 85

Yea, once while giving a "shout out" to a Native American. Very classy and heartfelt there. You know what's also offensive about that bizarre performance? It was insulting to the people in the N.A. group he was addressing. I saw it live and they were audibly uncomfortable with Obama's tone and behavior. There was silence followed by a little bit of nervous laughter when Obama spoke. I think as Jimbo and others have pointed out, Obama is so "post-American" that he assumes everyone else (well, 'cept for you evil white men) are just as disconnected from America as he is. I really think he thought that the Native Americans were just as irritated as he clearly was by the "inconvenience" of the horrifying attack at Fort Hood. In the interest of preventing future mass slaughters of this sort, it would probably be a good thing to require all NCOs grade E-7 and above to be armed while on duty. It is reasonable to be apprehensive at the idea of every 19 year old PFC carrying a loaded M-16 at all times but presumably any senior NCO should have the maturity and judgment to be armed and to use deadly force only if and when necessary. Why not require officers to be armed? Carrying around several pounds of metal in a holster all day is work and as the punchline goes, "If it was work, sir, you would have me doing it."

There will be more and Obama will not care. My opinion is Barack Hussein Obama is one of them. The progressive movement and radical Islam have joined years ago. It would be easy for Obama to melt in and go unnoticed as a Muslim.
I know many eyes are rolling now but do the math. Would any of you all believed that 8 years after 9/11 a guy with the name of Barack Hussein Obama would've been elected? Worse yet his radical ideology? Jeremiah Wright dabbled with Islam in the '60s. Farakhan, need I say more? The New Black Panther Party is Muslim. Tony Rezko is Syrian. Rashidi. How about the Muslim appointments he's made to his cabinet? Fits person he called when sworn in was Abbas of Gaza. He's tanking Afghanistan. Sorry folks he's one of them. The Muslim Brotherhood started this "stealth jihad" years ago. They had willing accomplices and they are progressives. War is coming here. Ft. Hood was the first battle. There is no doubt the Indian nations are a group which should be respected. The thing is, Obama only sees them as a special interest group. The minute Native Americans question a policy, or run afoul of some deal Harry Reid wants to make, or don't cough up enough donations for Obama's 2012 campaign, they will find themselves under the bus with all the rest of the people Obama has discarded in his insatiable quest for power and the destruction of this nation. 4 months ago McChrystal submitted his report to HIS superior, not to Obama. Petraeus then studied it and passed it on to his superior. There is this thing called "chain of command" it goes one and only one step at a time. Sort of like in the civilian bureaucracy. On Oct 1st Obama received it. In my country our civilian leader is in charge. Each step has to weigh many factors INCLUDING: do we have these troops available. Since Jimbo spent time in headquaters position he should know all this, I suspect that he does.
