| Reverend Jesse Jackson: Hey, This Whole Olympics Fail Is Kinda Bush's Fault When You Think About ItBut he believes that the Bush administration had poor relations with the IOC and remnants of that era remain. Jackson also said he wonders if repeated airing of footage of the beating death of 16-year-old Derrion Albert on television and the Internet might have influenced the IOC.Yeah, I wonder. I wonder. Nah, probably the Bush thing. You had it right the first time, dude. Now I really feel ashamed for politicizing this. Why, if I'd known the Reverend Jesse Jackson was going to take the high road like this... Little cowbell suggested by a racist unpatriotic reader. Look, we're not unpatriotic. We just notice that the guacamole looks like good dippin' material. Nice and cool. Rich and creamy. Comments1

Hotel room in Copenhagen : OBAMA (v.o.) "Copenhagen, shit. I'm still only in Copenhagen. Every time I think I'm going to wake up back in the residence. When I was there after the campaign, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing... I hardly said a word to my wife until I said yes to vegetable garden. When I was here I wanted to be there. When I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the White House. I've been here a week now. Waiting for a mission, getting softer. Every minute I stay in this room I get weaker. And every minute Olaf counts votes behind that podium he gets stronger. Each time I look around the walls move in a little tighter. Everyone gets everything he wants. I wanted a mission, and for my sins they gave me one. Brought it up to me like room service. " Two Marines approach the hotel room : MARINE "Mr. President ? Are you in there ?" OBAMA "Yeah." OBAMA (v.o.) "It was a real choice mission, and when it was over, I'd never want another." OBAMA "Whaddya want ?" MARINE "Are you all right Mr. President?" OBAMA "How does it look like?" MARINE "Mr. President Obama, sir?" OBAMA "Hey buddy, are you gonna shut the door?" MARINE "We have orders to escort you to the conference." OBAMA "What do I need to do?" MARINE "Sir ?" OBAMA "What, what will work to pull this off?" MARINE "Sir, I don‘t know. You are due at the IOC conference at 0800." OBAMA "0800?" MARINE "That's right. To all the blithering idiots who are so freakin' upset about this (especially the LGF'ers, the MSM and the Chicago Professional Victim Society, aka SEIU local 69), I would like them to answer these simple questions:
What do you have against a third world country hosting the Olympics, especially one that has experience in hosting large international events (Carnival every year, the World Cup in 2010, etc.)? How long have you been this racist towards cariocas? /hey, tossing this racism crap in their faces is kinda fun.... Why don't you want to share some of the "massive" Olympic wealth with some of the poorest people on the planet? Why can't you support the needy over the merely greedy? Years ago in college I can remember a required reading entitled, "If Christ Came to Chicago" about the corrupt political machine in ChiTown. For decades Chicago has been the poster city for corruption and sleazy politicians, police and city workers on the take. Fool that I am, I was certain that the rank and file voters would get fed up with the 'system' and vote them all out of office. Here we are, years later, and the only thing that is changed is that there are more Chicago's (New York, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, etc.). The people in these cities have accepted corruption as a necessary evil and somehow (beats me how) are convinced that the Democratic machine cares about the 'people' and the evil Republicans only care about big business. There is ample evidence that crime, poverty and hopelessness thrive in these environments. Please help me understand how conservatives have failed to convince these large populations that they are voting to continue this sorry state. It is a true failure of the right. Watching the citizens of New Orleans exhibiting "learned helplessness" made me sick. I fear that 2010 will not be the boon to our side we are hoping for. Convince me that I'm dead wrong on this..... Serious (ha) question: What does a classic narcissist do when he is
denied something he feel he deserves? Just wonderin' in case he loses
track of, oh, I don't know, Iran and Afghanistan and stuff.
From an article entitled The Narcissists Volcanic Rage The highly successful narcissist appears to be a very confident, self entitled, self assured individual. Often he is socially adept and can be very persuasive. He has a special way of drawing people to him. This is the mask that he (or she) presents so convincingly to the world. Often his audience responds with the praise, adulation and monetary rewards that the narcissist strongly pursues to prove how perfect and powerful he is. There is a dark underside to the narcissistic personality that shows itself when he is crossed, when people don't meet his unreasonable demands. Beneath the surface of his attractive outer shell, the narcissist is always seething. Narcissistic rage begins in early childhood. One classic theme is that of a parent or parents who focus on creating a perfect child. Rather than allow the child to be his natural spontaneous self, they impose a false self on him. They give him the impression that he is superior to others, that he can do no wrong, that he can treat others without respect, and that there are no consequences to his destructive and cruel behavior. At the base of the narcissistic rage is the unconscious feeling that he was never loved for being himself, but simply for the attributes that his parents saw in him: physical attractiveness, intellectual capacity, athletic prowess, artistic talent. He has been exploited by his parents to make them feel more powerful and worthy. The unconscious source of narcissistic rage is self loathing. When the narcissist fumes like Vesuvius and smoke becomes explosive flames, the molten lava of his bottomless rage covers everything in its path.So not good for our nation..... I just realized that one of Ace's greatest hitjobs perfectly, perfectly describes the IOC's reaction to the Obama dynasty today.
Names and pronouns have been changed to nail the guilty. The annoying thing about Barack Obama is that everyone is expected to pretend he's a real president. He's not. It's a big goof. Apart from kissing up to venal dictators and the occasional bout of corruption, his resume is pretty thin. He's a real president like that retarded kid was a real "assistant coach" for your seventh-grade soccer team. Yeah, you all pretend he's an assistant coach, but really you're just being nice to a retard. And so that's what Barack Obama is. He's got his "#1 Special Assistant Coach" baseball cap on, and he's got the "special coach's whistle" hanging around her neck. The "whistle" is "special" in the sense that they took the little pea-ball out of it, you know, the part that actually makes the whistling sound, so the whistle is effectively silenced. Because you know you can't just go around handing out whistles to retards. Retards love whistles. That's just asking for a brain aneurysm, that's all that is. But "Coach Barry" keeps puffing on that whistle anyway, making no more coherent sound than if you rubbed a sock on a marshmallow, giving you the sort of advice you'd expect from a retarded soccer "coach," like telling you to choke up on the bat and wait for the right pitch. And you're just like, "Okay, sure. Nice call, Corky." http://tinyurl.com/yqdv9 Posted by: North Dallas Thirty at October 02, 2009 10:59 PM (AJFfV) 95

This blame Bush crap is getting old. Part of being a leader means you take responsibility for the things that go wrong just as you claim the accolades for when things go right. Those who were in the middle that voted Democrat the last two elections are not going to hear Bush as a valid excuse much longer. It has been 9 months Democrats since you have had the White House and 2 years and 9 months since you have had the majority in the House and Senate. When will it NOT be Bush's fault? Clock's tickin. Show some leadership or get out of the way if your response for negative news is to always blame Bush. That's not leadership, that's a cop out.

Obama bears no responsibility for anything he has ever done or said or ever will do or say. Ever. Because he's oh so fucking perfect. I keep saying it. Democrats always accept praise, and never accept blame. How many times do I have to say it before it enters the damn lexicon? It's either that or I become a serial killer. Or a spaceship. Sarah Palin isn't perfect, just as most humans, but to her credit, she's never driven a tank, never driven an Oldsmobile off a bridge, never killed a fetus, never denied her blue collar lifestyle, and never been arrested, She has been the senior Alaska state executive, she is an accomplished mother, she savaged the oil companies with diplomacy, and she has been a royal pain in the ass to liberals. Also, you may want to consider your two assertions:
1)Palin can't do it-too damaged 2)No one else is on the horizon There is not going to be literally no Republican field in 2012. If she runs and no one else wows us, she's the nominee. And I have a hard time believing that the moderates who just got burned by the media are going to take their caricature of her at face value, nor are they going to give him another four years. Looks like some of the Euros had their noses out of shape over Barry showing up at the last minute
French IOC member Guy Drut said "an excess of security" for the Obamas unsettled some of his colleagues. He complained that he'd been barred from crossing the lobby of his hotel for security reasons, and he grumbled that "nothing has been done" to resolve the financial disputes between the IOC and the USOC. Of Obama's performance, Drut said: "He didn't do too much. Michelle Obama was exceptional." "This morning the city was closed because of Barack Obama," he added. Former IOC member Kai Holm said the brevity of Obama's appearance — he was in and out in five hours — may have hurt Chicago.
"Too businesslike," Holm said. "It can be that some IOC members see it as a lack of respect." King Barry the Arrogant not showing respect? That's not like HIM at all. I wonder what they thought of it's all about me speech? Posted by: TheQuietMan at October 02, 2009 11:26 PM (kwSTQ) 123

Scripts, acting, entertainment, leading up to successful personal appearances. That seems to be the logic and the world of the Obama presidency. Stars, athletes (it gets worse the loser they come to being professionals), rock stars, and actors, are the epitome of this. They make a personal appearance and logically assume that their mere presence is enough to ensure that they "win"; all go silent and bow in awe of their presence, their words truly are wise, even quasi-messianic, the hearts of the undecided are swayed. Their opponents, if any, logically, somehow, immediately have their butts kicked. All this, merely by appearing. It’s just like the stage or the movies; the event script is followed. Now add narcissism (if it isn't assumed and actually required). This is essentially what men have done for millennia, a war council perhaps, to decide policy and then get their warriors fired up. The people and warriors are gathered, the Big Man with his entourage appears, displays his prowess, etc., all are suitably impressed and assured that victory is guaranteed.
Silly? Not when you and your neighbors have to go and fight others to protect your lands/homes/families. And there's no script, no guaranteed outcome, no "do-overs" for the following "performance" (fight). Actors, singers and athletes have to, at some point, "perform". Actors and singers have scripted performances, but everyone understands and expects this, particularly the bad guys in the performance. Professional athletes have rules, referees, pads, medical excuses and penalties; not quite scripted, but they do have "do-overs". Even on "Dragonball Z", after both combatants explain to all how they have so much power that they simply must win, they do exchange a punch or two before the (scripted) outcome happens. But Obama seems to have missed the "performance" requirement and gone straight to (or stayed with) scripted personal appearances. He seems to see the job this way. Unfortunately, the job of the President has none of these; it’s all "real real". But as we’ve seen, no one else is following Obama's script. Result: Russia gave Obama nothing for abandoning Poland and Czechoslovakia, Iran is talking (actually laughing) imperiously about it’s nuclear program, and the IOC just publicly caused a "tinkle to run down Obama’s leg". I think he has no "do-overs". And that clowning achievement of Affirmative Action, Jesse J., can’t tell if the IOC was turned off by the Bush legacy (in all fairness the IOC seems to have treated Obama like a dog treats a bush), or by the black-on-black mob-beating-death of a black honor student in Chicago. No "do-overs" here either. Posted by: Arbalest at October 02, 2009 11:33 PM (KhusP) 127

Liberal elites in the media continually refer to the interview with Katie Couric as the deciding moment where Sarah Palin proved her lack of mental acuity and the shallowness of her base of knowledge. From my perspective, this is exactly the type candidate I prefer. One not scripted with nonsensical platitudes that reveal absolutely nothing about the candidate. We have all heard the same boring answers for years, and it's time to change the game and make the candidates reveal their true feelings and not the party line. When asked the question by Charlie Gibson about the Bush Doctrine, without a long history of working with the liberal media, Palin didn't realize it was a bogus question and stumbled along with her non-answer. Her answer should have been "which Bush Doctrine Charlie?" In the coming months she will gain experience with the elite liberal media and understand every time she steps in the ring, expect to go a few rounds. She should also learn not to accept their questions as factually based, and challenge whenever she knows the correct answer. No wussing about and she will be better served, and so will we the great unwashed. Posted by: Fish at October 02, 2009 11:47 PM (FnA4R) 142

The thing about Palin is that perceptions change. I like her very much, but frankly I thought she was through after the election. And I was dismayed when she resigned her office. But she came back fighting. She knocked Obamacare on it's butt with 2 words on friggin' Twitter. She's at the top of the Amazon Best Seller list now and her book isn't even coming out for 2 months. Nobody would have predicted that back in January. The contempt of people who bought into the Tina Fey stereotype will change to admiration if she keeps on swinging and hitting the Obama administration in the nuts. Especially as Barry reveals himself to be an even more wee-weed up little Nancy than we feared with every passing day. Someone online said every wisely the other day: look at who the Dems attack. That's the one they fear. Are they attacking Mittens? Huck? Pawlenty? No, 'cause they're not afraid of those three. Sarah's the one that gives them the cold sweats at night.

The U.S. once owned the IOC and hosted many Olympics, often because we were one of the few that could afford them. We held a fine reputation for hosting quality games that did not require the host city to take a 30 year bond.
Relations took a turn for the worse in 1980 when Carter boycotted the Moscow Games. In part as a result of the financial hit imposed by this, Samaranch undertook reforms to make the Games more affordable to all. Out reputation took a further hit after Atlanta, considered one of the worst Olympic Games - suffice it to say that Samaranch, then head of the IOC, could not proclaim Atlanta the best Games ever, as he had done for all prior Games, and since. Salt Lake was a save, but the memory of the troubles before Romney linger. But the thing that did this bid in was blocks. The IOC has a European block, an Asian block and a South/Latin America block. This is not news. Blocks vote for their favorite son, particularly on the first ballot, and we evidently had no clue or plan for this most basic of Games getting strategy. Not only was this not in the bag, the organizers were hopelessly out gunned when it came to basic understanding of the practical working of the IOC. We have repeatedly replaced the entire leadership of the USOC every couple of years as the political winds have changed. It's fun watching the Chicago Mob looking for scapegoats, well let's be honest it's going to come down to blaming Bush. I'll bet there's some fast talking going on now in the Windy City. You can bet that Daley, Jackson et al made a lot of promises to a lot of people about the cash that was going to come in from the Olympics. It was going to be Graft Heaven. Now, not so much. Poor Jesse, the more the charge racist is made the less power it has. Wonder what he's going to do for pocket money when his corporate race racket closes up. Lucyyyyy, you got some splaining to do! Jessee is just pissed that his sons won't get to sell their Budweiser at the Olympic venues. Bud has always been a big sponsor of the Olympics since LA in 84.

The mascots were to be Al Capone and John Dillinger. The Olympic shooting events were to be held downtown. Acorn and the Black Panthers weren't there for the vote. The brown envelopes were late and not stuffed with enough cash. What else could go wrong. I forgot,it was Boosh's fault. Posted by: chicocano at October 03, 2009 12:06 AM (bfHvV) 156
Robert at 151,
The voting power is the European bloc. There were 11 from Latin America, which includes the Caribbean, 10 from Asia, eight from the Middle East, 16 from Africa, five from Australia and the Pacific island nations, three from North America, and 44 from Europe. Remember the countries bidding don't vote until their city is eliminated. With 44 votes, the Olympics are very "Eurocentric", so it is no shock that Europe gets the Olympics more than any area. When the IOC wants money, they come to the US and the US television networks. What NBC pays absolutely blows away what any other countries' media. Watched Obongo's speech to the IOC. We're in trouble... I say he goes full Captain Queeg on us well before 2012 and we have Scanton Joe in the bullpen.
And go fuck yourself with the "Palin is damaged goods" bullshit. When did we start letting Tina Fey pick our candidates? Palin is making all the right moves now and she is the only one the douchebag liberals fear. Just let her go full Jacksonian on their asses and watch what happens. Posted by: Larsen E. Maybe the IOC members were turned of by the thought of a 20YO woman with a butt the size of Denmark sitting on her fathers lap watching the olympics (she said she did so it must be true), or she's following in Shrillary's footsteps to become the biggest liar in the white house. Pre-ordered a copy of Palin's book tonight. Keep up the orders and the top will blow off the charts. May order a few more copies to send to liberals wrapped in a plain brown rapper.

Gonna be a looooooong weekend among the Obamazombies. As for the president and his finally proud of her country wife, I bet they're scramblin' hard for SOMETHING to pay off the Daley machine. You mark my words: There are some folks out there who fully expected to be paid back for that win in November. And now the prez has had TWO sources of that payback shut cleeeean off.
This is the kinda thing that used to get normal folks' legs broken and others dead fishes sent as little "hints." Obama owes some folks out there REALLLLLL big and he'd best find a way to pay 'em back soon. This might seem a bit out there, but if you take a minute to look as just how desperate both he and Michelle have been actin' lately, you begin to see a spooky pattern. One that says someone, somewhere had better start getting their money's worth out of the new guy or said someones might just withdraw support in a few years, leaving the once beloved new guy handing the DNC yet another one term wonder. MrCraniac,
I agree, the Europeans have the most votes with 44 as you say. But they rarely act as a solid block. For example Madrid only managed 28 votes in the first round and 32 in the final, despite the mentoring of Samaranch of Spain, a man who carries more weight than most. That, and the great experience of Barcelona. So the other blocks are important too. Splitting these blocks is the trick of course, and in the past we have been able to win many bid contests, establish doping controls and influence rules on switching countries and many other things - all from a base of only 3 votes. We did this with experienced IOC members and USOC staff who built long-term relationships and reputations, and knew the ropes. Our USOC head today is only weeks on the job. Yes money counts, but the NBC contract is a different department from site selection and is driven by ratings and advertising. At one point the sanction fee for the U.S. market was about equal to the rest of the world combined, but it can have only a limited influence on site selection. On another thread I explained why the Atlanta Games are remembered so poorly by the athlete community. The athlete buses were abysmal and the housing only slightly less so. During a pre-Olympic trial tournament - held as a dry run for most sports - Atlanta hosted the French team in a college dorm with no sheets, blankets, pillows or towels. One should not underestimate the impact a bad experience can have on future bids. But my main point is this: in the past we always have had a very good read on every IOC site selection member. This included lots of advance work, files, etc. The Chicago organizers either had no clue about the votes and the way things work, or knew about the situation and sent Obama in to rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic. Either way, it was pitiful. Posted by: Robert at October 03, 2009 06:45 AM (cd6Ip) 170
I AM RELIEVED. We don't want another headache, especially with an
impotent potus running amuck in office, spending all of his time on the
road and from the totus. CUT OUR TAXES, Mr. President. And take you lumps like a man, not a weenie. Buckle down and do your homework from the Oval Office.
Obama fans are poor sports. Lack grace in winning and lack cool in losing. I'm glad for Rio. THEY want it, they got it. For all the rhetoric of "spreading the wealth" you see that Obama only does so selectively. Sheesh, it's Brazil's "turn" to host. If I were going to attend the Olympics, I'd rather go to Rio than Chicago, especially in the summer. Who wouldn't? And like Conan televised with the naked T 'n A shaking on Rio streets, Chicago never had a chance snagging the popular vote. Movers and shakers? The thought of Michelle's ass or worse yet Oprah's ass compared to a Rio carnaval girl's ass motivating votes, can't win for losing. Chicago, the world's just not that into you. Get over it. Obama, you've gotta transcend Chicago if you're going to amount to anything good. Posted by: maverick muse at October 03, 2009 07:42 AM (F1b/5) 171

The blame game is not going to work this time.
The global warming hockey stick was a lie, but the one on the unemployment graph is real. People know when their neighbors are out of work. They know when layoffs are happening in their company. They know when their taxes are being raised. All the cheerleading in the media can't hide it. The Dems have a supermajority. They can, collectively, do anything and the situation is getting worse, not better. People voted for change and got it. It was change for the worse, not the better. I don't think they are going to settle for excuses. Posted by: MarkD at October 03, 2009 09:17 AM (ks007) 173

Here's another possibility:
The IOC was considering what would happen if Obama got a second term. 2016 would be the final year of his presidency (or is that precedency?). Much of the story on the ground would have been about The Won, and not the games themselves.
Disclaimer: That's not my theory, just something I heard on talk radio last night. Still, you can bet that there was plenty of video footage being captured during the whole thing -- it was going to make an "awesome" NBC "documentary" during the 2016 Olympics.
Offtopic: Does anyone else think Obama's ego needs to use Billy Squier's "The Stroke" as it's theme song?

Jean, I will add to your list moving up to the elections:
Horrible White House Christmas with emphasis on multicultural roots, awful color schemes, and tacky parties, followed by a full-out extravaganza for Kwanza. Michelle is discovered to be taking cash to wear those awful clothes. Valerie Jarrett implicated in attempting to bribe IOC officials. Anti Cap and Trade demonstrations surpass anti-health care bill demonstrations. Iran punks Obama AGAIN. Chavez attacks Columbia with Russia's help; Obama does nothing. How am I doing?
