2 I applaud Brietbart & his organization's efforts at exposing these various shysters. My only question: Where the fuck was this scrutiny before the election?

Breitbart and crew can not bat one thousand forever; I enjoyed watching Keefe and Giles (and especially Giles) hit it out of the park.  She's a sweet little hottie--no question about that.

I'll settle for a nice good at bat by Breitbart next week--he's going to beat some liberal institution around the head and shoulders and hang the "stinko" sign on them.  So what if he only gets a two bagger instead of a home run?

Ace, don't you think the new commenty thing is not new any more and you might think of just start calling them comments?

Just a thought, but after two years, new is er, old.

5 Breitbart would have to have something extraordinary to make the NEA thing interesting to the masses.  To those of us who are informed, it's an outrage.  I'm just not sure that such a story would make much of an impact on a large part of the public.

10 I'm drooling in anticipation of this week's release!

I read the Patterico bit, but I must confess that I didn't appreciate the leap in logic that led to the prediction of the NEA business.  Maybe it's just that the NEA direction is so predictable.  After all, it's not as though anyone expects artists or actors to be of a conservative point of view anymore.  Not since all that Mapplethorpe business years ago.

I don’t think it will be an NEA thing. Why? Because the NEA thing has come and gone and is “old news”. I don’t think he would be pushing a “scandal” from old news unless there was something huge that never was reveled in the beginning.

28 Whatever it is, I certainly hope it's big 'n' juicy, like the Boob Czar's... um... endowment. Brietbart has a flair for the dramatic (I gather) so I would assume that this will be at least as good as the ACORN stuff.

BUT - and I say this as someone who's been around long enough to make it clear that I'm not a Moby, someone who supplied Palin leg pictures and Ace with Milkyloads' barebacking sites - this video stuff is making me a little nervous.

We know that every political group has some bad apples. Now, at ACORN and a lot of other places, the bad apples might fill most of the barrel. But surely with enough tries, the left could find someone in a conservative organization saying something racist, illegal, embarrassing, etc.

The "Borating" of ACORN has been tremendous fun, but conservatives have been Borated before and it won't always end well. And we all know that the MSM is going to fall all over themselves to report the wrongdoing of someone at, say, Heritage, or some county GOP office in rural Oklahoma. They are already doing it. Plenty of attention has been drawn to Birther and borderline racist stuff at the big DC TEA Party. At least with those we can say that hey, they're private citizens and we don't have any control over them. But when a conservative organization gets caught doing something bad, the calls for disassociation and condemnation will be deafening.

Brietbart has picked a fight. So far it's going our way, but that doesn't mean it always will. And the refs are going to try their damnedest to throw the game.

It's new compared to the old one, Kemp.

Ace,

I read Patterico's post last night and thought he is probably on to something. Breitbart seems to be a smart planner, and his Sept 7th article, as you noted, telegraphed his targetting the media.

I don't think it's a stretch to say he layed out what was going to happen in that article. My money's on Patterico here.

Obama throws ACORN under the Bus and Bertha Lewis is NOT happy.

http://tinyurl.com/njo3j7

Obama told ABC's "This Week" in an interview broadcast Sunday that what he saw on the video "was certainly inappropriate and deserves to be investigated." But the president did not say who should investigate. And he said it is not a major national issue he pays much attention to.

"Frankly, it's not really something I've followed closely," Obama said. "I didn't even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money."

Asked about the president calling for an investigation, ACORN chief executive Bertha Lewis said Sunday, "Well, that's his opinion."

Posted by: William Amos at September 20, 2009 11:33 AM (a5+QV)

35 I'm betting the story is about the NY Slimes burying the ACORN whistle blower story.   A NYT reporter was contacted and ready to go with it, but it was killed.

It could also be about ACORN receiving the 'Rats tapped out donor list.

I think I read about these stories on Michelle Malkin's site a few weeks ago

Too many comments that I didn't read so I'm sure someone already raised this. But whey would the NEA the a "bombshell" out of "left field". We've known about the NEA for three weeks now.

If it is the NEA there has to be a deeper connection.

Posted by: laceyunderalls at September 20, 2009 12:36 PM (oVEOy)

107 How about this? They take it to an alphabet network that said "Ooooooohhhh! That's baaaaaad! Here, leave those terrible terrible tapes with us and we'll do a story on it right away! Wow, the people really need to know about this!" So O'Keefe and Giles leave the tapes and weeks pass.

Especially if O'Keefe and Giles told Pinchy's rag and CBS that they were getting the only copies of the tapes.

I'm going to guess she was the one who gave the donor lists to ACORN...

Wicks most recently served as Obama's deputy field director in Texas and the field director in California. Before joining Obama's campaign, she headed campaigns for affordable health care and higher wages for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

I don’t see how this could be about the NEA scandal. Breitbart has hinted that this will be something that strikes at the MSM and the media did report on the NEA thing. Sure they tried to slant it as no big deal, but unlike the ACORN thing at last they covered it.

There has to be more to the NEA thing that would make it a “blockbuster”.

And Beck, he hyped that last ACORN video to death and yes, the woman did some crazy talk but..  I didn’t find it as persuasive as the others, simply because she was such a nutbag.

I'm with you that it isn't the NEA. We already know that organization is full of shit.

I don't really think it's about Obama either. IowaHawk said it has nothing to do with "personal life" and since we already know Barry's stance on everything, it would be a no-brainer.

I never realized Hannah Giles was Doug Giles' daughter.   Now THAT is a testament to proper child-rearing.  Giles Senior is a hard-core, gun-loving, take no prisoners Evangelical Christian who writes some of the funniest lines I've ever read.   I lost track of his columns a while back, but his being the father of the person who brought ACORN down is amazingly cool.

FYI - for those who don't know who Pater Giles is, be verrrrry careful what you say about his daughter. This man could seriously hurt people (and probably has, now that I think about it).  Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that (growing up in that household), his daughter probably could too.

Iowahawk's (BTW...if you have never read his"The Idiossey", make sure you find time) clue has shown that this Buffy Wicks is at least a part of Breitbart's story.

So, anyone think the fucks in the mainstream media will take the ball and try to do some reporting on this??

Just kiddin'..they're probably huddled with her to figure out how to do damage control.

Even good stories don't always work. My gold standard of a "reveal" story that achieved its aims would be the RaTHer memo reveal: the target is driven out of respectable society, the target's associations are forced into defence, and the persons driving the story are elevated.

The Greenwald sockpuppeting reveal worked about as well as Kennedy's drunken driving. It disgraced him among conservatives, who were paying attention; but no-one else was paying attention.

The Axelrod troll reveal did not work. No-one cared that Obama was paying trolls to grunt out FUD all over comment threads.

The Van Jones reveal worked.

The ACORN reveal is currently working but could stall if people let it stall.

Buffy Wicks still has her blog at my.barackobama.com. The blog started 7 Sept 2007. It's mostly political organising boilerplate: Barack wows crowds, here are your local offices, etc. There are some nuggets to be found though.

On 21 October Wicks wrote this:

Barack Obama once again demostrated his capacity to lead yesterday, releasing a statement [dead link] urging Gov. Schwarzenegger to sign the California Dream Act into law. Senator Obama has long been a proponent of the Dream Act, passing similar legislation as a state senator in Illinois.

Many [link to jra's 10 October diary at Kos] properly recognized the Senator's action for what it was: a powerful moment of leadership directed at forwarding a worthwhile progressive cause.

That day she then posted this:

October 2nd, 2007 marked the 5th anniversary of Barack Obama's insightful 2002 speech in which he first articulated his principled opposition to the Iraq War. To commemorate that day five years ago, and to build support for his 4-point plan for withdrawal [my link: http://tinyurl.com/2ugu88], California joined states around the country to rally behind the Senator. Supporters in Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego joined together to hear elected officials, leadings grass roots activists, and students reaffirm their support for Senator Obama.

She links to two news pieces from SF and LA, apparently because she wasn't in either place.

The next, and last, interesting article amongst all that fluff is this from Dec 20:

Congresswoman Barbara Lee recently announced her strong support for Barack Obama for President, describing Senator Obama as “a real agent of change.” She says her support is “a matter of conscience in a time that demands that we all follow our deepest beliefs.”

Barbara Lee is a moonbat's moonbat, one step above Cynthia McKinney.

Back to Wicks: her blog as of 2007 is of those who want giveaways to illegal immigrants, who want a withdrawal from Iraq along the lines of Obama's four point plan, who are comfortable with the Daily Kos, and who think highly of Barbara Lee.

In the last two years, her mind may have changed; but it's unlikely.

Buffy Wicks was also involved in Obama's primary victory in Texas.

Texas had its primary and then had the precinct election on 4 March 2008. This is called the Texas Two Step, and was one of those anti-democratic hacks which the Democrats and the Klan dreamt up back in the Redemption days of the late 1800s. Basically blacks and (perhaps more of a threat then) poor whites could "vote" in the primary - and then, at night, the party hacks would get into their smoke filled rooms and do the real voting.

From the link above: Wicks learnt all about the Texas Two Step and made it work for Obama.

And here's something:

Lloyd Criss, chairman of the Galveston County party, this week said that in his precinct, sign-in sheets were taken to Obama’s Galveston headquarters, where names were added to them. However, Criss said, the apparent additions didn’t seem to affect the delegate count.

What did Wicks know and when did she know it...?

Last weekend, I ordered chocolate Ugg Classic Cardy hoping they wouldn't show marks as much as my beige ugg cardy boots and waterproofed them when I first got them. They look so much cleaner than my old beige ugg boots, I wear my Whooga's all year round, they don't make my feet sweat as much as my older pair. I'm very impressed with how they are holding up to my abuse, very well made. My only suggestion to everyone is keep them dry and out of the mud.Ugg Classic Cardy!
