True to His Word, Obama Orders Issues Gitmo Closing Order Shortly After Taking the Oath of Office

I think Gabriel was being purposefully fuzzy in his earlier thread on this. Obama says it's gonna happen "as soon as possible, but no later than one year from now".

Other upcoming Obama orders will include that the recession get itself righted sometime in March, but no later than Christmas of 2010, that we fully and completely nationalize the nation's healthcare system by sometime this February, or no later than 2013, and that NASA shall place an astronaut on the planet Mars this summer, or no later than September 2021.

I myself pledge to paint the new "guest room" by this weekend, no later than whenever we shut down Gitmo.

Yes, but on a more serious note that fraud-in-chief wasted no time in making abortions *easier* to get and more readily available.

I guess that's part of how he'll create more jobs and lower the unemployment rate.

3 He'll send them over to Hyde Park in Chicago. Lot of reforming terrorists there.

5 WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama is ready to issue orders on Thursday to close Guantanamo prison and overhaul the treatment of terrorism suspects, in a swift move to restore a U.S. image hurt by charges of torture years of lies and slander spread by us and others in the media.

14 According to the AP two upcoming executive orders should cause some comment - the first will restrict interrogations to those listed in the Army Field Manual.  The second will direct a review of the manual with a look to expanding the available techniques.

16 I bet Barry just made a lot of Democrats nervous. Not the nutbag Koskids, the Democrats that secretly said to themselves "Thank God Bush is kicking ass out there. I get to be safe and call him a war monger at the same time".

Posted by: eman at January 21, 2009 11:46 PM (ZsOIJ)

17 Obama according to the WaTimes will close immediately all "Black" interrogation sites and order the release or transfer to civilian courts of the terrorists there.

He's really asking for it -- ANY and I mean ANY terrorist attack he OWNS. He must really want a terrorist attack.

Well, what do you expect from a man raised and born a Muslim?

Obama wants terrorists to attack the US. So he can order a surrender to Sharia. Something he's been itching to do.

Obama (terrorist hugging thug) is NOT my President.

19 Darling, I'm not alarmed. This is such an easy one for Bammy, just kicking the can down the road and getting to say "There, I'm at work on one of my campaign promises." In a year's time, the detainees will still be dispersed in federal prisons and foreign hellholes. You and I won't have to pay for their halal meals and television nights. They'll be enjoying Leavenworth or eating haggis in clammy Irish cells.

Ahhh, Hussein, as his first order of business, executed a 120-day reprieve for his alleged co-religionists. Who could have seen that coming... somewhere there is a quote from the One about his siding with the islamist if there ever was a war...

What, they were going to vote MaCain if he promised to close it sooner? He did have more cred on POW issues. He did not have to do this from a political standpoint. He could have kept carping that it was a very difficult issue, the rent was already paid up etc...This is just a "how does my ass taste" moment.  For a 1st move in office this is utterly stupid. A rookie mistake, but then, he is a fucking rookie...Where's the "I need a job, loan modification, health insurance, crab cream etc"..bunch? Very. First. Priority. This is what these shitbags want for you. They want you dead, no matter how nice or principled you are. Commit suicide if you want, don't take me with you...Seriously, this is the most important thing on his desk?  Middle America stays up at night worrying about this? Does he think this is what goes through my mind as I kiss my boys forehead at bedtime? What a fucking asshole. I, even fucking moron me,  can't even bring teh funny on this. Option 1. Just open the gates at Gitmo and let them into Fidel's island paradise. They will get free healthcare and be with an ally. Bonus points, moonbats won't be able to complain because Fidel and Raul would never put people in camps and torture them (in the real meaning of that term) would they.

Option 2. Set them free in French Guyana. You know, the place where the Foreign Foreign Legion trains? That way the Legionnaires can give them a lesson in "existentialism".

39 #35 eman, its a feedback loop.  The men on the ground see this farce in Washington screwing things up, so they take matters into their own hands.  I would just like to them raise a red flag under the stars and bars in DC, so the boys working in the shadows know somebody has their back.

Of course, there probably better off not trusting anybody back here.

In the end, we will go back to rendition and have to beg for all of own intel - which will all be seriously compromised by the fact that someonelse hands have been on it.

Pack some patch kits for tubes and as many motorcycle dealer catalogues as you can get. Especially Harleys. Big dealers will most likely accomadate you when you tell them what/where you are doing. Small shops might not help out as they have to pay for them.
