Stickied in the Top Headline Sidebar.

Also, don't forget to vote for AOSHQ in the Best Conservative Blog category. Here are my recommendations, once again, for a few polls:

The Anchoress is nominated in the Best Individual Blogger category.
Snapped Shot is nominated in the Best Photo Blog category.
Nice Deb is nominated in the Best Small Blog category.

I've been asked to include:

This Ain't Hell, nominated for Best Military Blog.
Jammie Wearing Fool, nominated for Best Large Blog.

You can vote once per computer every 24 hours. Voting is open for another six days. Good luck to all the competitors.

2 If you vote for the technology blog, DO NOT VOTE FOR Arstechnica, that place is a liberal wasteland. I dropped them from my RSS feed reader cause i got tired of all the preaching.

I voted for you Ace, and you too Wolf, although I must admit that Michael Yon deserves mad props (can I say that here?)

3 "Mother may I sleep with Treacher" is worth voting for in the humor blog category.

4 I also voted for Blackfive.

Question: Is Little Green Footballs conservative?

This doesn't have anything to do with them being conservative or not, but I stop read him a couple months ago because of his obsession with intelligent design and all that stuff, not to mention his apparent disdain for religion especially targeted at Bobby Jindal and his Catholicism.

7 Generation Y is the best pick in the Latino, Caribbean or South American blog category. The writer, Yoani Sanchez, writes about the hard realities of living in communist Cuba, is critical of the castro regime, and does so from within the island itself. the only protection she has from Cuban government reprisals and punishment is the exposure we give her on the net and in the media in genral. Please consider consider throwing a few votes her way.

thanks!

9 I've posted links to Yoani's blog here several times before and I will do it again: www.desdecuba.com/generationy

In other news, when is AoShq going to stop phoning it in? If Gabe didn't have to get up and go to work and thereby take the time to throw up an open post, this blog would sleep till noon.

Oh, and I'm tired of having to go through unnecessary steps to post a link, and no, it is not a long unbroken string.

Well, Got My voting in and this from Fox:

Fox is making a big deal of the “congressional investigation” into the Madoff ponzi scam and how they are asking “tough” questions and laying massive blame on the SEC and the regulators. Yesterday the big deal was that a detailed letter had been sent to the SEC that listed exactly what the scam was and that the SEC ignored the warnings.

It is likely that at the end of these “investigations” more new laws will be enacted in the same manner as the bogus sarbanes-oxley act which makes life miserable for companies and workers alike. Like sarbanes-oxley, new laws do NOTHING but create more costs and productivity killers and all due to the failure to enforce existing regulations.

I have yet to here anyone from congress or the “free” press who discuss the failure of all the existing regulation and congressional meddling to do anything to prevent these Enronesque style fraudulent schemes.

14 I stopped reading LGF for the exact same reason, Luthien.  One day he described Jindal as "Pro-creationist, pro-exorcism."

I got pissed off, ranted a little in the comments (within reason, I didn't insult anyone) and a few days later, my account was banned.

I'm not remotely a creationist, but Jindal is one of the best prospects we have, and for CJ to shit all over him like that, for me was unforgivable.  I honestly don't miss a thing.  Ace and Hotair.com report everything I could possibly need right now.

15 Did any of you morons happen to catch the "interview" between Jim Cramer and Matt Laurer on the morning show yesterday?  Admittedly I just saw only a small portion of it because I walked in to a coworkers office and she had it on, but it had a serious propaganda vibe. Even more so than the usual MSM news propaganda vibe. I'd be interested to hear some other impressions of it.

One other thing that this Blago thing rings to the forefront is the abject racism of the Congressional Black Caucus. They are Democraps and black. The Democrap Party is officially against all of this Blago mess because it is making them look like the party of corruption they are but does that matter to the CBC? Of course not because to them race trumps every thing.

I concur with the earlier posters--LGF is first rate on Islamic terrorists and zombie's photo essays on moonbats on parade are worth the price of admission...but..

What a pedantic almost-Sullivanesque ass he is about intelligent fucking design:

Israel kicks Hamas ass, here's a nice picture for an open thread, here's some Islamist idiot spouting propaganda, here's some more on Israel kicking Hamas ass, and BTW, Holy Shit, some schoolboard in Kansas is proposing that creationism or intelligent design or some harmless oogedy boogedy stuff be on the table and..OMFG, call out the National Guard.

Still, overall, a pretty good site.

Re; The Hijackers Remains - Having read the whole article, my first thought (well, other than a variety of smartass ideas for exactly that) was that it reads like the setup for a (probably bad) sci-fi/thriller movie. Like all that DNA in storage, and then some evil dude steals it all to genetically create a super-hijacker - but of course the moral of the movie would be far to the left. Maybe the super-hijacker would actually like kittens and ponies and save the world from evil Rebuplican corporations or something...

It would be in horrible taste, but given the way Hollywood thinks I give it just a few more years before someone figures the statute of limitations on 9-11 respect has run out.

37 Plus, the others were worse, especially that pompous ass VDH.

Despite being a professor emeritus, the man lives on a raisin farm in the San Joaquin Valley. I grew up in the same area, still have relatives in the raisin business there. I'll tell you what, that's about as far from pompous as you can get.

38 Yeah, I don't get it.  What's wrong with VDH?

I first noticed VDH a couple of years ago when he was trashing Michael Ware, after the Golden Mosque bombing when things were bad, pre-surge, pre-Sahawa, pre-Petraeus.

And Ware was just telling the truth about how bad it was, while VDH was out with the usual bullshit about how things were fine.

Note that Ware was not anti-war, he said the US had to stay and fix the mess.  Just anti-bullshit and anti-fuckup.

Ware was and had been in Iraq for about two years at the time, and about three years now.   And VDH is trashing Ware from the San Joaquin Valley.  With all of his bullshit classical allusions.  What an asshole.

Wow, what an analysis.  One thing's for sure, P, nobody will ever accuse you of even pretending to be an expert.

I suppose you like VDH because, like him, you like all those things about the ancient Greeks, hence "polynikes."  All those things like Spartan swordsplay and pederasty.

VDH is just the most pompous of the Vietnam war draft dodging chickenhawk crowd.  He'd shit his pants if he lived Ware's life in Iraq for one week in 2006.

47 Michael Ware as a paragon of journalistic virtue? Nothing says journalistic integrity like getting into a brawl with your lover's married boyfriend in a Baghdad safehouse.

To be fair though, in House to House, David Bellavia showed a lot of respect for Ware.

14 KIA born in 1954

5 KIA born in 1955
