Racist Ad Links Obama to White Man, Stirring Up Age-Old Fears of Homosexual Miscegenation

DrewM sent this to me a while ago... Basic message: Osama bin Ladin was unsuccessful in bombing the Capitol.

Barack Obama's bosom chum, unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers, was successful at bombing the Capitol.

At Hot Air-- complaints that an ad about a white Christian-born American terrorist is, um, Islamophobic. Or something.

And another racist McCain ad, linking him with a dead white male. That's right-- age-old fears of homosexual necrophiliac miscegenation.

The Ultimate Taboo. The Third Rail of American politics. Subject of the incendiary, suppressed William Faulkner/Roger Corman movie, The Long Hot Summer I Spent Having Hot Gay Sex With a Zombie Schvartze (aka Abaschlong, Abaschlong).

First Reviews: The Ad is a Summer-Blockbuster Hit! How do I know?

Well, you always know how effective an ad is based on how badly liberals sputter indignantly and incoherently over it. Let Michael Crowely of TNR explain, or rather notexplain, why the ad is such a monster hit:

Here We Go

You thought Corsi was swift boating? This is swift boating. The 9/11 link is completely and utterly revolting.

And that's the entirety of the post. Why is the 9/11 link revolting? "Shut up, that's why."

Hmmm... let me actually bother to do what scary-important TNR writer Michael Crowely didn't have time for and make something akin to an argument.

The 9/11 connection is perfectly warranted because, in case Crowely hasn't noticed, we are in a world war against terrorism. (A low-intensity world war, but a world war nonetheless.) Part of this war is fought in the arena of ideas. One of the contested ideas in this war is whether terrorist tactics are morally justifiable under any circumstances, including, crucially, when employed by an angry political minority which passionately wishes to change US policy but does not have the conventional military might to do so through regular warfare.

It is the stated, and well-nigh uncontested (except by some on the left) that the answer to this question is a forceful "No."

It is the past, and current, position of William Ayers, Barack Obama's longtime friend and political ally, that the answer is an enthusiastic "Yes." Indeed, Ayers' only regrets about bombing the Capitol and so forth was that he "didn't do enough" and stopped actively engaging in terrorism too soon.

The left is very big on "soft power" and winning hearts and minds, in contrast to hard power and winning territory and air wars. Very well. If that's the case, then Obama's close friend, the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, should be of even greater concern to liberals than it is to conservatives, as liberals are the ones emphasizing the soft, lead-by-example moral suasion aspect of the war -- an aspect that Obama's unrepentant terrorist friend William Ayers badly undermines.

Furthermore, Ayers is a disgusting, despicable creature, a cheap, cowardly thug who planted bombs and whose organization murdered policemen.

Does Obama support domestic terrorism? Oh, I doubt that. But let's also get it on the record, too, that his friendship with Bill Ayers surely must indicate he's not exactly repulsed by it, either.

That's an awful lot to get past.

How many unrepentant rapists have you personally befriended in your adult life, Michael? How many convicted but proud murderers? How many such repellent creatures have you found so charming that you could easily put aside qualms about their past crimes to become fast friends with them?

Beyond that, of course, it is simply incontestable that if a Republican were friends and political allies with a former abortion-clinic bomber or other sort of domestic terrorist -- someone who still advocated such measures, by the way -- Michael Crowely and the whole of TNR would be very interested in such a friendship, and would gleefully contrast that Republican's stated position against Islamofascist terrorism with his tacit acceptance of, and possible approval of, domestic terrorism in the right situation.

Tell me I'm lying, Michael. Tell me.

Thanks to Allah for pointing that out.

Thank You, Andrew Sullivan! McCain says "fair game" on Rezko, Wright attacks.

Not that we needed that okay. But still.

Oh, and Obama says the ad is "despicable."

You know what's despicable, Barack? Befriending an unrepentant terrorist who still supports violent terrorist bombing against your country, Barack.

How many houses does McCain have?

I don't know. Here's a good question: How many bombs did your friend Bill Ayers build and plant?

At least four? Seven? Thirty?

As Flounder said "The Negros stole our dates"

Now, since the German's bombed Pearl Harbor, it's pay back time. We' not going to take it anymore!

Another Flounder quote.

Let the fun begin.  40 states I say!!

5 The ad is scheduled to run in two states.

The group says it will spend $2.8 mil on the ad in Ohio, Michigan — which would be the largest single third-party expenditure this cycle.

Plus the web and other free media exposure? Yeah, that's gonna leave a mark.

katya,

Can you imagine how much fun it would be if the Republican candidate was someone conservatives actually liked?

Sadly, at some point we'll get back to immigration, cap and trade, McCain-Feingold and all the rest.  But for now? It's a blast.

9 It baffles me that this kind of ad hasn't been out for ages.

Obama is now attacking Mccain's wife (since she owns the homes).  That breaks yet another Obama promise to leave the spouses alone.

I guess that's enough to make these things fair game now, not that Mccain has yet mentioned Ayers, and he probably won't.  But Obama making clear he was going on the attack (to raise nutroot money), and Moore telling him to attack, and Obama actually making stupid attacks on Mccain and his family really provides a lot of cover for 527s and Mccain to say the brutal truth: Obama has been raised for his entire life by utter monsters.  He is a monster.

12 So, who wants to guess how long before Mccain denounces this attack?

What's sad is that a few weeks ago, Mccain would have condemned it, just as he condemned Wright attacks.  Now that he realizes that Obama is going to hit him hard and use a lot of BS to do it, Mccain is damn lucky he didn't manage to close off 527s.

15 The 9/11 connection is perfectly warranted because...

And then, of course, there is the fact that the "we didn't do enough" quote was actually published on 9/11, as people were dying in the towers.

16 Obama is now attacking Mccain's wife (since she owns the homes). That breaks yet another Obama promise to leave the spouses alone.

Which, of course, points up the generalized stupidity at work in the Obama campaign... glass houses, stones, etc.

17 DaveS, we all know that as Ayers read the story about himself, and watched CNN's coverage of the thousands being murdered in NYC, that he was having a wonderful day.

Nearly everyone who was happy about 9/11 has given money to Barack Obama.  And I'm not just talking about Americans.  Somehow Bush has turned the war around to our advantage (in a fragile sense in general, but in a concrete way in Iraq... once a legitimately huge problem).

Let's remember that Bush is sacrificing some aspects of Iraq now in order to finish this ASAP before Obama can destroy Iraq's future (as he would love to do).  Obama can't really invade Pakistan, and he won't... that's just talk.  He will allow Iran to have nukes, submitting to them as Carter did.  He will submit to Russia, leading to a cold war.   Obama won't frown as he sees the US lose power and influence and become less safe.  He will be happy.  He agrees with Ayers that more has to be done to destroy America.  He agrees with his wife that the USA is hell.  He agrees with Wright that 9/11 was justified.  Ayers is one of many signs that Obama really is a huge threat to us.

I don't know. Here's a good question: How many bombs did your friend Bill Ayers build and plant?

1. That's bloody, ruthlessly awesome.

2. It's also an excellent point. Obama's relationship with Ayers should make him unelectable, anywhere, just as John Kerry's meeting with North Vietnamese government officials while we were at war with that country should have made him unelectable. The fact that this isn't the case (and that Ayers isn't giving daily back rubs to Aryan Brotherhood members in Leavenworth) is really fucking disturbing.

Posted by: UGAdawg at August 21, 2008 06:37 PM (vfDNl)

20 Ayers has probably already got all the parts he needs for the bomb he plans to take with him when President Obama invites him to stay in the Lincoln Bedroom. Do you really think he can resist the urge to fullfill a life-long dream?

Doing a quick drive-by on Kos and HuffPoo, they seem to think this deal about the houses is HUGE.  Nevermind that it gave McCain an opening to bring up Obama's dealings with Rezko that included the latter help buy his house.  Or that the houses belong to his wife.  Nope- it shows that McCain is rich (a sin in itself), and by the way did we mention that he's old?

That said, McCain didn't handle the question that well- a simple "My wife's property holdings aren't relevant to this campaign and not worthy of discussion, FYNQ" would've sufficed.

"How many such repellent creatures have you found so charming that you could easily put aside qualms about their past crimes to become fast friends with them?"

I don't mean to get all puffed up, here, but in the context of a political campaign for the Presidency of the United States (and all that this evokes, from the dawn of democratic self-governance), isn't the fact that Obama has forgiven and befriended a man who speaks proudly of denouncing said democratic ideals and instead promoted violence to achieve his political goals even more outrageous than the suggestion of befriending an unrepentant rapist or murderer?

Every breath that Ayers sucks in rejects what Obama claims to stand for, and Obama stands next to Ayers when he stakes his claim.  That's fairly outrageous, and utterly unprecedented in our history.  (And no, lefty dickeaters, the founding fathers did not do the same thing.)

I did hate Kerry. Behind the politics he wants to be the guy who slams the door in your face and sneers at you through the oak-framed window. I know this guy. "Do you know who I am?"

I can't figure Bill out, but Hillary wants to rip the flesh from her struggling enemies and eat their livers. I'd be scared to admit if I hated her.

Just remember: in August 1999, then-President Clinton pardoned 14 FALN terrorists, who had planted dozens of bombs in Chicago and New York. He didn't even demand that they denounced violence.

OK, Bubba wasn't personal friends with any of the FALN. But that's a distinction without a difference.

Just what is it with Democrats and terrorists? OK, they hate the US, that goes without saying. But don't they love their own lives? Do they want to be murdered?

42 An even better question for Obama: How many states are in the union?

Given all the god damn gaffes Obama has made, that he's being a dick about this is hilarious.

Mccain's family residences are owned in trust, and his wife's great aunst lives in one, his kids live in at least one, his wife rents a couple... and Obama counts them all as Mccain's homes.  Bue even Mccain's lawyer would have a hard time identifying exactly which ones Mccain 'owns' since he really is a DC guy who doesn't care about all the houses.

Just remember, Mccain made a normal gaffe, if even one (since he said he'd get back to Politico).  Obama couldn't count the 50 states.  The media only wants to talk about the former.
