| Iraq "Insurgents" Planned Extending "Insurgency" To American SoilThese people are simply kill-crazy insane. This proves it-- they are winning this war, at least where it ultimately counts, in the court of public opinion. And yet they planned to actually slaughter Americans on American soil and thereby guarantee themselves the full and utter decimation they deserve.Sources tell ABC News that the plot may have involved moving between 10 and 20 suspects believed to be affiliated with al Qaeda in Iraq into the United States with student visas the same method used by the 19 al Qaeda terrorists who struck American targets on Sept. 11."Operatic insanity," Hitchens called it. I question the timing.

"This appears to be the first hard evidence al Qaeda in Iraq was trying to attack us here at home," said ABC News consultant Richard Clarke, former chief counterterrorism adviser on the U.S. National Security Council.
How dare they! Posted by: John F Not Kerry at January 22, 2007 04:30 PM (7hqRj) 3
Not to be all paleocon isolationist and prejudiced and shit, but for the life of me, I don't know why we let anyone from that area of the world into our country. What do we get out of it, except more chance for those sickos to kill innocent Americans?
Wall it off and buy their oil. Posted by: JohnW at January 22, 2007 04:31 PM (wg4FW) Posted by: carl carlson at January 22, 2007 04:33 PM (bTQVB) 5

America is at war. This usually means someone desires to attack us. (Surprize, Surprize, Republicrats) To get OUR OIL, we will probably have to stay there and man the pumps, as the Iraqi insurgents would most likely still be as uncooperative as they are today. Unless you have a Marine guarding your front door, you might concider purchasing your very own firearm. Old fashion, I know, but it works. (Take a safety course through your local Police Dept. so you don't go off hitting the neighbors dog or cat or worse)

They were all on our side after 9/11, and Bush squandered that goodwill by invading their country.
No wonder they hate us. Posted by: Roy at January 22, 2007 04:51 PM (pO2Jg) 8
I don't know whether I need to post a sarcasm alert on my previous comment. I guess we'll see.

Mike, I don't know about your PD, but most cops in my jurisdiction couldn't hit the SS Norway from 5 paces with a bazooka.

Sadly, while you were being sarcastic, the person who's post was directly above yours is totally serious. And totally in need of psychiatric help.

Thanks for the newsflash, Einstein. Next you're going to tell us not to let small children play with plastic bags. Posted by: JohnW at January 22, 2007 05:01 PM (wg4FW) 12
Repeat after me: there is no al Qaeda in Iraq. There is no al Qaeda in Iraq. Iraq was a peaceful secular country that shunned Islamic terrorists before Chimpy McBushHitlerBurton invaded the country to get all of their oil. Everyone knows that.

Perhaps I could take a gun safety course from this DEA officer?
Posted by: Dave in Texas at January 22, 2007 05:15 PM (pzen5) 14
Yeah, make sure they attend class, cause, you know, if you're going to two or three classes a few days a week, you couldn't Possibly have time to do any evil shit. How 'bout just saying no to student visas? Would that be so bad?

Those misguided youths would be flying kites and distributing girl scout cookies if it weren't for Chimpster and his unnecessary war of neocon aggression!

That's why all the picture of cheering crowds in the Arab world after 9/11 right? Because "they were all on our side"? Posted by: Purple Avenger at January 23, 2007 02:12 AM (HoI9m) 19
At this point in time (with the "dems" in charge) I wonder if we would fight to protect this country if attacked. I think the dems would want to TALK to the other side (God forbid we call them the enemy). Also, the only bright side I see to the politicians taking their various stands on Iraq and the war on terror, it certainly decides for me, who I will vote for, for the rest of my life! The dem candidates don't even want to talk about the war on terror, they want to discuss healthcare, the two Americas, etc.

My local police just make it up with volume. Its not unusual to have an exchange where over 100 shots are fired, with one hit. Tob Posted by: Toby928 at January 23, 2007 12:39 PM (ATbKm) 21
OK, I'm convinced. Try the NRA.
